Strong degreasers and caustic cleaners are sodium-hydroxide based, so they need EPDM seals, the same seal family as bleach, not the VITON used for acids and solvents. Run a caustic through the wrong seal and it hardens and cracks fast.
Caustic wants EPDM, acid wants VITON
If your crew runs caustic degreasers and acidic descalers on the same day, you generally need two units. A foamer holds a caustic degreaser on vertical surfaces longer. See the Chemical Compatibility Guide and compare with acid-resistant sprayers.

Common questions
What seal resists caustic and alkaline chemicals?
EPDM. It handles sodium hydroxide and strong alkaline degreasers where VITON would struggle.
Can I use the same sprayer for acids and caustics?
Not usually. Acids want VITON, caustics want EPDM. You may need two units.
What is the best sprayer for a strong degreaser?
An EPDM-sealed sprayer, or a foamer if you want longer contact on vertical surfaces.
