What an alkaline resistant sprayer is rated for
- Caustic soda up to 50%, caustic potash up to 30% and ammonia up to 10%.
- Strongly alkaline cleaners and degreasers (pH above 9.5), including oven and grill cleaners. These must be water based with no solvents, so check the SDS for other ingredients.
- Bleach and chlorine up to 12.5%. See bleach resistant sprayers if bleach is your main job.
- Glycol type brake fluid and methanol. Not for petroleum solvents.
These ratings are Klager's and apply to the Klager 1.2L. The Gloria CLEAN 500 shares the EPDM seal but is not Klager's build, so ask us to confirm your chemical on that model.
Caustic wants EPDM, acid wants VITON

Not a stainless steel job
Strong alkalis attack the brass and stainless steel parts of a stainless sprayer such as the Gloria 505TK and 510TK, so use a poly sprayer for caustics.
Foam the degreaser
A foamer holds a degreaser on walls and overhead surfaces longer, so it can lift baked on grease before you rinse. The Klager Foamya Clean is sealed in EPDM.

How strong a caustic can I spray?
Klager rates its 1.2L Alkaline Resistant for caustic soda up to 50%, caustic potash up to 30% and ammonia up to 10%. Check the strength of your product on the SDS, and ask us if it is above those limits.
Can I use the same sprayer for acids and caustics?
No. Acids want VITON in an acid build and caustics want EPDM, so you need two labelled sprayers. Rinse between chemicals.
Can I use a stainless steel sprayer for caustic?
No. Strong alkalis attack the brass and stainless steel parts of the Gloria 505TK and 510TK. Use an EPDM poly sprayer such as the Gloria CLEAN 500.
What is the best sprayer for a strong degreaser?
