A chemical resistant sprayer is one whose seals, pump, springs and wetted parts are built for the chemical you spray: an acid build with VITON (FKM) seals and a polypropylene pump for acids, a solvent build with VITON seals and a nylon pump for petroleum solvents, and EPDM for bleach, chlorine and caustics. Get the build wrong and a standard sprayer swells, perishes and leaks within weeks. Get it right and the same unit lasts years.
NORA PRO supplies chemical resistant sprayers and foamers across 1L mini units, poly and stainless pressure sprayers, trigger sprayers and air driven systems, from Klager, Gloria and more. Not sure which build? Start with the Chemical Compatibility Guide, or send us the product. Pricing is on quote.
The seal and pump decide everything
- Acids: VITON (FKM) seals with acid resistant parts: the Klager 1.2L and 1.5L Acid Resistant (polypropylene pump) and the Gloria PRO 500 JET Acid Resistant (acid resistant trigger valve, plastic lance and PVDF nozzle, fitted by NORA PRO). Not rated for petroleum solvents.
- Petroleum solvents: VITON (FKM) seals with a nylon pump and stainless steel springs, such as the Klager 1.0L and 1.5L Solvent Resistant and the 1.0L Superior. Not rated for acids.
- Bleach and chlorine up to 12.5%: EPDM sprayers such as the Klager 1.2L Alkaline Resistant, or our dedicated bleach models, the Klager 1.2L Bleach Resistant and Gloria PRO 500 JET Bleach Resistant, which pair VITON seals with bleach resistant parts.
- Caustics and alkalis: EPDM, such as the Klager 1.2L Alkaline Resistant, the Gloria CLEAN 500 and the Klager Foamya Clean.
- Acetone and ketones: Klager does not recommend any standard sprayer for pure acetone. Use the Klager Master Solve+ for solvent mixtures with 20 to 50% acetone, and ask us about the Klager Master Clean+ for pure acetone or MEK.
Pick the page for your chemical
Each build has its own page. Choose by what you spray: acid resistant sprayers for descalers, rust removers and brick and concrete cleaners, solvent resistant sprayers for brake cleaner, thinners and solvent sealers, bleach resistant sprayers for sodium hypochlorite and chlorine sanitising, or alkaline resistant sprayers for caustic soda, ammonia and strong degreasers. A crew running acids, solvents and bleach usually needs three units. For sanitisers, see sanitising and disinfecting sprayers.

Common questions
What makes a sprayer chemical resistant?
The seals, pump, springs and wetted parts must all resist your chemical. VITON acid builds suit acids, VITON solvent builds suit petroleum solvents, and EPDM suits bleach and alkalis. The seal usually fails first on the wrong sprayer.
Which seal do I need, VITON or EPDM?
VITON in an acid build for dilute acids, VITON in a solvent build for petroleum solvents, and EPDM for bleach, chlorine and caustics. For acetone, use a specialist Klager build. Check the Chemical Compatibility Guide or send us your SDS.
What is the difference between a chemical resistant sprayer and an acid resistant sprayer?
A chemical resistant sprayer is the whole range. Acid, solvent, bleach and alkaline resistant sprayers are each built for one family of chemicals, so start with what you spray and choose that build. If you spray more than one family, you will usually need a separate, labelled sprayer for each.
Can one sprayer handle several chemicals?
Rarely. Acid and solvent sprayers both use VITON seals, but the acid build has a polypropylene pump and the solvent build has a nylon pump, so one cannot do the other's job. The exceptions are a few chemicals rated for all three builds, such as ethanol and isopropyl alcohol. Keep separate, labelled sprayers and always rinse between chemicals.
Do you stock seal kits?
Yes, genuine VITON, FKM-80 and EPDM seal kits, so you reseal rather than replace.
