KLAGER - Germany
1.2L Alkaline Resistant Pressure Sprayer
Item no. 03 041367
The Klager 1.2L Alkaline Resistant is a refillable pump up spray bottle for caustic and alkaline cleaners: 1,200 mL, EPDM seals, a polypropylene pump and a V2A stainless steel spring. EPDM is the seal for caustics, alkaline degreasers and bleach, where a VITON acid or solvent sprayer is the wrong choice.
EPDM seals. For alkaline cleaners.

Application fields
What it is for
Alkaline degreasers and cleaners, oven and grill cleaners, fibreglass cleaners, car paint prep agents, alkaline workshop chemicals and alkaline based graffiti removers. It takes caustic soda up to 50%, caustic potash up to 30%, ammonia up to 10% and bleach up to 12.5% chlorine. It also handles methanol and glycol based liquids such as glycol brake fluid.
It is not for petroleum solvents or oils: brake cleaner, diesel and solvent degreasers swell EPDM, so use the Klager 1.0L Solvent Resistant. For most acids use the Klager 1.2L Acid Resistant; acetic acid up to 30% is conditional on this sprayer, so ask us first. For acetone, MEK and quat sanitisers, ask us. Check section 3 of the SDS, or look your chemical up in the Chemical Compatibility Guide, before you fill.
How to use it
Release any pressure, unscrew the head and fill to the scale mark, no higher than 1,200 mL, so there is air space left to hold the charge. Do not fill with liquid hotter than 30 degrees C. Refit the head by hand and pump around 30 strokes. The relief valve limits it to 3 bar. The 0.8 mm hollow cone nozzle gives a fine, even spray, and the see through strip on the bottle shows how much is left.
After the job, release the pressure, decant leftover chemical back into its container, rinse the bottle with clean water and pump some through the nozzle. Grease the pump piston O-ring with silicone oil only: petroleum based greases attack EPDM. Store it depressurised, out of heat and direct sun, and wear the PPE the SDS calls for.
Keep it running
Every part is available as a genuine Klager spare. When it weeps or stops holding pressure, fit an EPDM seal kit rather than a new sprayer. Add a colour coding cap so alkaline bottles never get mixed up with acid or solvent ones. The soft touch base ring keeps it standing and protects the surface it sits on.

Common questions
Can I use it for brake cleaner or solvents?
No. Petroleum solvents and oils swell EPDM seals. Use the Klager 1.0L or 1.5L Solvent Resistant, which have VITON seals.
Can I put caustic soda in it?
Yes, up to 50%. Caustic potash up to 30% and ammonia up to 10% are also fine.
What lubricant should I use on the pump?
Silicone oil only. Petroleum based greases damage EPDM seals.
