The Klager 1.5L Acid Resistant is the larger refillable pump up spray bottle for acid cleaners: 1,500 mL, VITON (FKM) seals, a polypropylene pump, a V4A stainless steel spring and Klager's ErgoGrip handle. Klager rates it for most acids and for alcohols such as isopropyl and ethanol, and its 4 bar working pressure suits longer spraying between refills.

What it is for
Acid wheel and alloy brighteners, descalers, toilet and bathroom cleaners, flash rust removers, and acid washes for brick, tile and concrete. It suits dilute acids: phosphoric and citric acid up to 30%, and hydrochloric and sulphuric acid up to 10%. Stronger hydrochloric (10 to 25%), sulphuric (10 to 30%) and nitric acid (up to 10%) are conditional, so ask us to confirm before you fill.
It also takes ethanol and isopropyl alcohol up to 100%. It is not the sprayer for acetic acid or methanol: use the Klager 1.2L Alkaline Resistant with EPDM seals. For hydrofluoric acid, ask us. How to use it
Release any pressure, unscrew the head and fill to the scale mark, no higher than 1,500 mL, so there is air space left to hold the charge. Do not fill with liquid hotter than 30 degrees C. Refit the head by hand and pump around 30 strokes. The relief valve limits it to 4 bar, and a few strokes during the job keep the pattern even. The ErgoGrip handle makes longer spraying runs comfortable, and the see through strip on the bottle shows how much is left.
After the job, release the pressure, decant leftover acid back into its container, rinse the bottle with clean water and pump some through the nozzle so the pump and tip come clean. Store it depressurised, out of heat and direct sun. Wear the gloves and eye protection the SDS calls for.
Keep it running
Every part is available as a genuine Klager spare. When it weeps or stops holding pressure, fit a VITON seal kit rather than a new sprayer. Add a colour coding cap so acid bottles never get mixed up with alkaline or solvent ones, and a 15, 30 or 50 cm extension lance to reach into wheel barrels and behind fixtures.

Common questions
1.2L or 1.5L?
The 1.2L holds 1,200 mL at 3 bar and suits detail work. The 1.5L holds 1,500 mL at 4 bar with the ErgoGrip handle, for fewer refills and longer spraying.
Which acids can I put in it?
Phosphoric and citric acid up to 30%, and hydrochloric and sulphuric acid up to 10%. Stronger hydrochloric, sulphuric and nitric acid are conditional, so ask us first. For acetic acid use the Klager Alkaline Resistant, and for hydrofluoric acid ask us.
What if it stops holding pressure?
Usually a seal has worn. Fit a genuine Klager VITON seal kit rather than replacing the sprayer, and check the head is screwed down square.
