Commercial cleaning equipment for contractors comes down to a sprayer or foamer that suits the job and seals that survive the chemical. For plain water based cleaners, the pH on the label decides: below 7, the acid resistant (VITON) sprayer; 7 to 9.5, either; above 9.5, the alkaline resistant (EPDM) sprayer. More detail is in the Chemical Compatibility Guide and the chemical resistant sprayers range.

Foam cleaning equipment, from hand pumped to wall mounted

Foam holds the chemical on walls and canopies for its full contact time, and shows where you have been. A foamer works with chemicals that contain surfactants, and many cleaning agents come in high foaming versions, so tell us the product and we will confirm. Choose by area:

  • Hand pumped: the Klager Foamya Clean (EPDM, for alkaline degreasers, chlorine sanitisers and washroom cleaners) and the Gloria Washfoam 5.0L (EPDM), with no air line or power lead.
  • Hose end: the Lafferty Model 251 foam gun runs off a garden hose, draws straight from the chemical container and sets the dilution with 20 colour coded metering tips.
  • Fixed sites: the Lafferty Wall Mount HV covers up to 46.5 m² a minute with gauges for repeatable foam, and the Drum Mount HV straps to a 205 L drum or tote.

Big areas, hot water and repairs

For formwork oil, degreasers, sealers and most petroleum based liquids over big areas (not acids, alkalis or acetone), the Gloria 510TK holds 10.0L, works at up to 6 bar and pumps by hand or from an air line, with an optional trolley. The CT Italy RB65 hot water wash gun takes clean water with normal detergents up to 60 degrees C continuously. Common questions

What is the best sprayer for degreasers?

Most strong degreasers are caustic, so an EPDM sprayer such as the Klager 1.2L Alkaline Resistant or Gloria CLEAN 500. Petroleum solvent degreasers need a VITON solvent sprayer instead, and the SDS tells you which you have.

Can one sprayer cover all my cleaning chemicals?

No. Acids and solvents need VITON in two different builds, and caustics and chlorine need EPDM or a model rated for bleach, so most crews carry at least two clearly labelled units.

Why use a foamer for commercial cleaning?

Foam clings to vertical surfaces, so the chemical stays in contact long enough to work instead of running to the floor, and the foam shows exactly what you have covered.

What foam cleaning equipment suits a large site?

Which sprayer suits quat sanitisers?
